Carl Eggleston set Labor Day Weekend as the time to install his signs. Carl is pictured erecting a large sign at one of Farmville’s prime intersections — Main & Milnwood Road.
Carl U. Eggleston shows Senator Mark Warner a photo of the two of them that appears in his book ”Joy & Pain”. The photo was taken over 25 years ago aboard a private jet campaigning around Virginia. The current images below were captured on August 24, 2022 in Farmville.

Dear Christian Friends,
On Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. in the Minor B. Eggleston Chapel, 914 South Main Street in Farmville, Virginia, the Friends of Carl U. Eggleston will sponsor a program to help our friend, Carl Eggleston. Reverend Dr. Dwight C. Jones, Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of South Richmond, will provide the keynote address. Reverend Jones is a former member of the Virginia House of Delegates and former Mayor of Richmond Virginia. Carl has an excellent chance of becoming the next Mayor of Farmville. When he is elected it will be an historic election. As you know, Carl Eggleston has worked tirelessly in many organizations to benefit our Community. We realize that some of you do not live in Farmville, but Carl’s work extends beyond the Farmville line. He has sponsored his “Back to School Supplies Giveaway” and “Toy Giveaway on Christmas Eve” for more than 20 years. Now he needs our help to fulfill his 40 year goal to become the Mayor of Farmville. When elected he will serve all citizens of Farmville.
We know that Churches do not make contributions to political candidates. We are hoping that you will encourage personal contributions. Our goal is $24,000.00 to make his election happen. We are asking all ministers and all friends to make a contribution and be present for this program. If you cannot attend, please send a contribution to Friends of Carl U. Eggleston, Post Office Box 1, Farmville, Va. 23901, Click Here or use the QR code at the bottom of this letter to make a donation.
Thank you in advance.

Farmville Mayoral Candidate, Dr. Carl U. Eggleston stands in front of his official residence. Carl Eggleston now lives in his childhood home. It was this house that Carl lived in when the schools were closed from 1959 to 1964, and Carl had just completed the second at age 8. For two years Carl played in the backyard of this home. On the third year Carl’s parents rented a house in Cumberland County. When schools opened back up Carl returned to Farmville to live in the house to complete his education. He graduated from Robert Russa Moton High School in 1969. Carl has been a citizen of Farmville for 70 years. He also started the Carl U. Eggleston Funeral Establishment 40 years ago. Today, Carl is a candidate for Mayor of Farmville. For 40 years he has served clients in the Farmville area—now let’s help him serve as the next Mayor of Farmville!
